| Event Description | We're pleased to announce that we shall be holding an Open Day on Saturday 24th April 2010 at which you have the opportunity to see for yourself how the charity, thanks to your support, is funding projects which are helping the Wessex Neurological Centre to provide the very best in neurological care. You'll be able to see the Paediatric Video-Telemetry Suite which is providing surgeons with the data needed to perform life-changing epilepsy surgery, the Smile4Rich Intensive Care Ambulance (that has carried over 1800 patients since entering service three years ago), and the Auto-Tilt Sigma physiotherapy chair (our latest acquisition) used to assist in the rehabilitation of patients. You will also hear about some of the ground-breaking research that is being undertaken with funding from the appeal. Last, but by no means least, we are thrilled that Leica Microsystems will be demonstrating their state-of-the-art M720/OH5 neurosurgical operating microscope, equipped with the FL800 Fluorescence Imaging System. This equipment is the objective of our current appeal and we are delighted that Leica are supporting the event by bringing it over from Switzerland especially for our Open Day. This is a tremendous chance to see just how your support and donations are improving patient care, and staff will be on hand to explain what is on show and to answer your questions.
